About Me

Pate is an emerging musical theater performer, director, and designer. Beginning at the age of eight, Emily discovered her passion for the stage as an actor. The Greer Cultural Arts Council in Pate's hometown served as her launchpad, performing as Mazie La Bird in Seussical the Musical, Peaseblossom in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Jane Porter in Disney's Tarzan (just to name a few.) She also worked with the Greenville Theatre in Jesus Christ Superstar and All Shook Up!

In 2015, Emily entered Jacksonville University to study musical theater as well as technical theater. She was involved with each production in her four years on the technical performance side. Noteworthy roles include Amneris in Aida, Wendla Bergman in Spring Awakening, and The Witch in Into the Woods. Pate was fortunate enough to dabble in every form of technical theater and has scenic design credit at Jacksonville University (Children of Eden, Spring Awakening, Into the Woods, Legally Blonde.)

Emily has directed shows and music revues at the community theater and collegiate levels. Pate has received recognition from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for assistant directing Into the Woods with Kimberly Beasley and Jacksonville University. She was also the guest director for the Greer Cultural Arts Council in 2016 with their summer music reuve series.

Pate constantly pushes boundaries in her performances and designs. As Walt Disney said, "it's kind of fun to do the impossible."
